Dear Friend of the
Academy
This
is a letter to express our sincere thanks for
electing us as the new Executive Body of
I A P.We do hope we shall be able to
fulfil some of your expectations.
In
this very context, we wish to send you our
greetings and wish you all a happy journey in
the coming years. Please take the navigator seat
as we drive you down Pink City.
Pedia
Media existed some years back and in a more
robust form. It had a statewide circulation and
went to some national libraries and key office
bearers. It suffered a temporary cardiac arrest
and stayed in suspended animation for some time.
It is resurrected now.
We
plan to run Pedia Media as a monthly and ma
y include:
q
activities
of the Branch in the month passed
q
achievements
of members ( fellowships,deputations,advanced
& specialized courses attended, childrens’
weddings, spouse’s achievements and the like )
– naturally you shall have to get to us with
these details so that we may include them in the
next bulletin. As an example, Dr
B S Sharma has proceeded on a one-month
clinical training in Pediatric Bronchoscopy at
AIIMS, New Delhi.
q
information
on any special new courses offered locally and
countrywide
q
main
news from Central Office,Mumbai
q
small
write ups from members
We
invite your suggestions /grievances on the
manner it may take and would always like you to
be active participants.
The
Executive Body has made some headway and I
summarize it for you here:
q
MONTHLY
CLINICAL MEETS:
We
are planning a monthly clinical meet – which
we shall be presumptuous to call The
Pediatric Clinics of Jaipur.The attempt
will be to keep it monthly, mid week, sparing
festivals, almost always clinical case based and
interactive. Minimal formality, no
ceremonies…..caste,creed and sex no barrier !
The food served may be not so lavish and the
venue may not always be a hotel or a five
star.Maybe we shall settle for our spartan JMA
Hall.If we are able to get good
sponsorship……let you all be on wings !
q
9th
MARCH 2006:
The
first in the series is on 9th March
2006 at Las
Vegas Hotel.Details are in the enclosed

q
17th
MARCH 2006:

separately. It is to be held at Hotel
Country Inn,Khasa Kothi Circle.It is
sponsored by Sanofi Aventis Pharma. The likely
topic regarding probiotics.Finer details shall
reach you in due course of time.
q
MEMBERS
‘ DIRECTORY:
The
other activity planned is a Directory of Members
of Indian Academy of Pediatrics Jaipur ( a
Directory of Pediatricians of Jaipur ) . Our
sincere attempt will be to involve all
Pediatricians in the I A P.There is some 50 %
membership only at the moment and we wonder how
we shall be able to include non-members in our
Directory.
Dr
BM Raturi has taken up the responsibility
and you shall keep hearing from him off and on
in this regard.
Several
addresses and phone numbers have changed since
the database was developed. This has led to some
undelivered mails and some colleagues not
getting information.
Please
send in your details like updated addresses,
telephone numbers,mobile number, email address,
passport sized colored photograph (for
Directory),date of birth and marriage,spouse’s
details and the rest.A form is attached for the
purpose. This may be handed over to any
executive member.
Even
if you are a member already – please send in
the completed form so that we may update our
data. Please xerox for extra copies.
q
OFFICE
BEARERS’ PARTICIPATION :
Some
office bearers of I A P Jaipur have made some
contributions on a larger scale and these may
have policy-making implications. We are
highlighting some of these. The idea is that
more of us need to get involved and make it a
more broad based representation. You all are
welcome aboard.
National
Rural Health Mission : The President and
Secretary joined a meeting in January 2006 on
this ambitious Union Health Ministry’s
programme. Involved ourselves with Mrs Shubhra

valuable suggestions.I A P may act as an
outreach body and we may liaison within
ourselves for offering support under Public

these activities and involvement have achieved
some objectives:

putting a local Branch on a wider
platform
